Course selection

Course selection at the George Mason University

To get a Master’s degree in “Applied and Engineering Physics”, you have to choose three out of five compulsory subjects. You are free in your choice of the remaining subjects, however it should ideally be connected to the topic of “crashworthiness”.

Further information will follow.

University calendar of the GMU online

If you want to get a Master’s degree in “Applied and Engineering Physics” with a specialization in “Transportation Safety” from the GMU, it is advisable to transfer two courses from your current studies at the University of Stuttgart. There are two conditions to get recognition for the courses attended in Stuttgart:

  • The GMU has to offer a comparable lecture, which fits thematically to the master’s program
  • The performance from Stuttgart cannot be worse than a B (2.0)

An English translation of the lecture’s content, certified from the professor, is also necessary for recognition at the GMU. Just ask the relevant institute early on. In principle, just take one too many transcripts from courses with you if there should be any problems with recognition of a certain lecture.
